Right now, Smorg is feeling

FUCKING
HELL.

Now THAT was a fucking concert. I feel like I've never been to a concert in my life besides yesterday's, because this one was such an amazing experience, it banished every other concert to shame in the darkest pits of fucking hell. I can't even explain. But I'm going to try.

So, from the beginning.

I dragged Peter and Jake away from our family party in MA at about 4:30 in the afternoon.

Oh boohoo.

So we got to Worcester and parked and everything and went to the side of the building to wait in line, because they don't open the doors until 7:00. It turns out that there actually were some people there before us, about 7 of them playing cards in a circle on the sidewalk lol. So we sat and played tic-tac-toe and dots and tried to stay cool in the evil summer heat.

Now, the side of the street where we were waiting also happened to be the street where they parked the tour busses. And the bus that we were sitting right next to happened to be Edguy's. How did I discover this? When none other than Edguy Guitarist Dirk Sauer walked into the bus. It was funny because when I saw him go in I was like *blink blink* ...Dirk? and then when he walked back out again I saw that it definitely was him. So that was cool ^_^ but not nearly as cool as everything else that happened. XD

So we waited in line, blah blah, and when it got closer to the concert Dirk walked by again and I wanted to say hi but I didn't because I didn't want to like draw a ton of attention to the poor guy who was just trying to walk around and not get mobbed by SUPOSIDLY obsessive fans that obviously weren’t so obsessive because they didn’t recognize him because they would have talked to each other about it if they had because they wouldn't shut the fuck up about anything at all.

Moving on.

7:00 FINALLY rolled around and we went up to the doors and there were two lines and I kind of cut into the second line ^^; but that’s ok cuz it was a huge mob anyway. And so I ended up being like the second person through the door :D and of course I bolted to the front and center of the stage and clung to the fence, claiming it as my exact spot and no one else's for the next 3 hours.

After another painstaking hour of waiting, the opening band, Into Eternity started to play. I admit, I expected absolutely nothing from them. However I was quite surprised when they put on a very decent show. The lead singer was very enthusiastic and played with the crowd a bit and their music was a little American, but not nearly as awful as I had expected. And it turns out that they're from Canada lol so that interpretation was exactly right, just "a little American."

A note about the crowd. Lucky, lucky me I ended up standing right in front of this slutty girl with boobs that stuck out farther than her toes and her "boyfriend" that must have still been in the process of undergoing the sex change from female to male.

In three words, NASTY NASTY GROSS!!!

Especially when they tried to push in front of me. HAHAHAHAHA I DON'T FUCKING THINK SO. First the guy tried to push me and I wouldn't budge, I scooched closer to the guy next to me and I wouldn't let him in at all. So then he switched spots with the boob thing and tried to get her to squeeze in front of me but she was even worse at it than he was. In short, they failed miserably. That’s right you nasty fucking creatures, go make some nasty fucking babies somewhere and then eat them.

Aaaaaaanyway

After Into Eternity finished there was yet more waiting x________x yahoo... So the German dudes were setting up the equipment and testing the mics and stuff and this one dude was testing the mics by saying "hey hey hey hey hey" and so I went HI! really loud and a bunch of other people in the audience did too at like the exact same time XD we all just got kind of sick of hearing "hey" at around the same time and couldn't help but reply lol.

And they kept testing stuff and testing the tested stuff and testing the tested stuff that was already tested, at this point, I was so impatient and excited that I wanted to jump over the metal barrier and drag all 5 members of Edguy onto the stage myself, because I had waited years for this concert and I didn't want to wait another second. But alas, I did wait just like all of the other people that were making up the giant blob of... well, people. And talk about patience being rewarded!!!

FINALLY the moment came where my precious Edguy took the stage. First Felix the drummer, then the three guitarists (Eggi, Dirk, and Jens) and then the master of the world, Tobias Sammet himself. (And Tobi was wearing the exact outfit shown in that picture, however for the record that picture was indeed taken at a previous Edguy concert.) I went fucking WILD lol what an awesome, awesome moment.

I'll kind of cut to the chase for once and give you the list of tracks they played, I THINK. After the concert Pete, Jake and I sat down and tried to come up with the list of songs they played but my brain was blown away so it was a bit hard to remember. Anyway here's the list and the general order they played them in.

And I wish I could upload every single one of those songs so you could just click and listen to them however I can't afford the bandwidth to do so, my internet budget is limited to free stuff only. However if you ask I'd be overjoyed to G-Mail any of them to you or send them over Yahoo Messenger.

Unfortunately, they did not play All the Clowns, New Age Messiah or Mysteria, all of which I would have loved to hear live. But there's no way in hell that I'm complaining. XD

Here are some highlights specific to the different songs.

Before Land of the Miracle, Tobi gave a little speech and said (in his funny but cute German accent) that Edguy is typically not a band that does ballads, and he was well aware that this was a power metal concert and Edguy is indeed a power metal band, this being the exact reason that they were going to get the "sissy stuff" out of the way now. XDXDXDXD That's exactly what he said lol, "sissy stuff." I was extremely amused. and Land of the Miracle is an absolutely beautiful song (that I know just about every word to of course ^^;) so that was very nice to hear in my opinion.

Lavatory Love Machine was obviously and as expected, the most popular song. Many people other than me were screaming the lyrics, especially the chorus. I got to know the fence extremely well during this song x_x very very squished. (But couldn't be happier XD) and of course, at the very end the guitarists moved off to the side a bit and Tobi did his ever popular split jump that made the crowd go fucking wild. Perfect ending to a perfect song! XD

Vain Glory Opera... INTRO!!! *heart heart* lol need I say more?

Tears of a Mandrake - THEY PLAYED IT!! Oh I was so so so happy! ^___^ As obsessed as I am with every song of Edguy's, that and All the Clowns are probably my 2 favourite songs of theirs ever.

I should mention that Felix had a wicked drum solo from Star Wars because he loves sci-fi stuff like that, lol geeky but cute. And as expected it was jaw-dropping, his hands move so fucking fast.. I'd love to see him play Pop'n Music lols.

I should also mention that throughout the show, Tobi played games with the crowd a ton! XD wicked funness. He would do the thing where he'd sing a few notes from one of the popular Edguy songs and have the crowd repeat it and make us do it louder and louder each time. He also let us sing a chorus of Tears of a Mandrake without him which was awesome because you could actually hear the lyrics clearly from the crowd, and I've never had that happen (where you could tell what the crowd was saying) when a singer has let the crowd sing part of a song like that before. And also he did the classic game where which section of the crowd could sing the loudest, front, middle or back and then left and right going back and forth where the left side would cheer and then the right and then left right left right left right getting faster until each side only cheered for a fraction of a second at a time. And of course he kept playing around with the mic stand and running around the stage and messing with the other band members and coming way up front wicked close to the crowd and stuff. (*fangirl shriek*)

And another thing, XD (yes yes, there's always another thing) the three guitarists did their adorable little trio thing where they stand in a line and sway back and forth at the same time with the music lol that made me extremely happy. (very easily amused..)

The encore, Out of Control lol this was fucking sweet. Edguy played their "last song" which obviously wasn't really their last song and left the stage and of course the crowd wouldn't shut up ^_^ and Tobi came back to the edge of the stage and put his hand to ear and we cheered louder and he came closer and put his hand to his ear again and made a Tobi face like "hmm, I guess they might want more..." and he did this a few times until he made it to the middle of the stage and then the other four guys came out and we screamed even louder lol. And Tobi took the mic and he was like well I here's one more for you guys I guess and its called OUT OF CONTROL! But the way he said it he paused after the word 'out' and of course some of us crowd members already knew the next two words he was going to say so we said "of" and then there was another pause and then "control! *tons of cheering*" lols :D

Now, if you've read this far you're very lucky because I'm about to tell you about the best part. Well, there's two best parts really, and you're about to hear about one of them so here it goes.

During the show, Dirk and Eggi were on the left side of the stage, Tobi was in the middle of course and Felix in the back of course and Jens on the right. And I'm not sure if they're set up this way all the time but usually they are. But of course they kick ass so they were walking around the stage a ton and stuff.

So Eggi walked over to play with Jens for a little while, and he was standing directly in front of me. And he looked into the crowd while he was playing and I was screaming all the words and waving my little metal hands around and stuff and I wasn't sure but it felt like he looked right at me. And I thought to myself well he probably didn't look right at me, I mean I'm surrounded by people he's probably looking at the boob slut behind me or something.

Anyway, Eggi went back over and played on the left side of the stage again for a while and then he came back on the right side with Jens (so he didn't get lonely all by himself on the right side of the stage I bet) and he kind of looked at me again and so I blew him a kiss XD I'm not even sure why I did I'm kind of embarrassed about it now *blush* but I was so happy and I absolutely love Edguy, so I did. Anyway when I did he raised his eyebrows and opened his mouth really big like he always does XD and so I thought wow yeah he definitely saw me *blush*

And so he left again and chilled with Dirk and then during Lavatory Love Machine he came back over and I was leaning forward and standing on my tip toes and screaming all the lyrics of course, and he wasn't singing back up vocals but Tobi was singing and he was singing too but without a mic because the mic was near Dirk and it wasn't his turn to be singing. That’s confusing. Anyway, he was singing and I was singing and I stared right at him and he stared right back at me and when we finished singing that line he did the Eggi tongue thing that he always does. Seriously, I don't think I've ever seen an Edguy video where he doesn't do the tongue thing. Its adorable lol. I can't find a good picture of it, I wish I could take screen shots from Windows Media. Stupid fucking thing. T_T Here's kind of a bad one obviously Eggi is the one on the right. I don't care who you are, if you've read this much you should know that by now. XD

Well here's the best part about this little relationship I developed with Mr. Eggi lol. At the very end of the show, he walked from his little spot with Dirk over to his spot right in front of me on the stage, and walked to the edge of the stage. And of course once he got close a bunch of hands went up in the air reaching for him, and he watched my hand, then reached out and put his guitar pick firmly in my palm. And not to sound arrogant, but I'm absolutely positive that he singled me out and gave it to me on purpose. And let me tell you, my sweaty little palm gripped that thing and wouldn't let go XD lol I know it was just a guitar pick but it was so freaking cool to me, an awesome thing to remember an amazingly awesome concert by.

Now there are quite a few special little things about this guitar pick. First, they had tons of guitar picks on the stage attacked to the microphone stands, just in case a guitarist needed another one. But these guitar picks were just general guitar picks. The one Eggi gave me has the super cool evil jester logo on one side, and the name of the best band in the entire fucking world on the other. No really, Tobi says it all the time (go shameless self promotion!) and he's right, Edguy is the greatest band ever. lol ^^

Another thing, you can't tell very well from the picture but the upper right edge of the pick is bent a little from being used to play jaw-droppingly fast metal music, muhaha!! Anyway, in conclusion I feel special. ^_____^ lols

Whew! you thought this story was almost over didn't you? Haha you poor bastard, there's much much more.

So after Edguy finished playing (so sad!!) the dude that was standing behind me said to me "boy I'm glad you're short! Are you guys staying there for Hammerfall?" and I was like haha you're welcome, and no actually we're leaving but you can have our spot. So there was a mad dash for the spot XD more squishing, yey x_x but we made it out alive.

Next went to buy shirts :D and guess what! They didn't have small sizes ._. but they had mediums rather than large and XXXXXXXXXL (not ALL americans are fat you know...) and so I managed to scrape up enough money to buy both the ones they were selling XD they had

And they're both wicked cool! :D Also, on the topic of tour dates I should mention that this was Edguy's first show in America on this leg of the tour. The others were in Canada.

After I bought my precious shirts I changed into one of them because my Avantasia shirt was literally soggy with sweat. I'm absolutely serious, it still is damp actually. Super gross lol I seriously have never ever been that sweaty in my life. Even when I was headbanging there was a layer of hair stuck to the back of my neck. Eeeeewww but, of course, SO WORTH IT!! And of course I went into the bathroom and kind of wiped my back and my arms and my face and Billy off with a wet paper towel, which didn't do much but it was better than nothing.

Ok here's the last section of the story. And it's the other best part. Aah, that's right, there were two best parts and you've only heard about one of them so far. And I know you've been waiting for the other best part so here you go.

After Edguy and a break for set changes and whatever, Hammerfall started to play. So we stayed for their opening song and their second song which was Mind of Storm which was like the only song of theirs that I know lol we were like fuck this and left because it was much cooler outside (even though it was still wicked hot outside but yeah.) And I sneakily walked to the side of the building where the busses were but no one was in sight. And we were thinking of leaving but Pete was like sneak onto their bus! Stay here and wait for them! Do it!!

And we did XD I didn't sneak onto the bus of course because it was locked obviously, but we hung out on the sidewalk for a little while, and sure enough some man unlocked the bus and went inside and soon after Dirk went in the bus too. And I waved to him as he was going into the bus and when he came out I walked toward him and he stopped and waited for me to come over and I said hi I've been a fan of you guys for almost 2 years and I've been waiting for you guys to do a big tour in this country so I could come see you, and this was the best show I've ever been too, you guys are an awesome band and thanks so much for coming to tour here and I hope you come back soon (something like that) and he said in his funny German accent *giggle* thank you and we're planning to tour here again when the new album comes out and blah blah and then I said can I give you a hug? but I was already halfway hugging him when I said it but he was already halfway hugging me back so it was ok and I HUGGED DIRK!!!!!!!!

So I still haven't hugged Tobi lol but hey Dirk's probably hugged Tobi and I hugged him so that's close XD lol just like when Adam hugged Mikael Stanne from Dark Tranquillity and I hugged him so it was kind of like I hugged Adam. But now I really have hugged Adam ^_^ lots and lots and lots of times lol oh boy *bounce bounce heart*

Also, I figure I've had direct communication with two of the members of Edguy so only three to go XD

I realized after that I probably could have asked Dirk if he could take me to meet the other members of Edguy, but I didn't really want to be too pushy and plus I think I'm way too shy to ask that. XD But there's always next time ^_______^ heehee.

Well that about concludes it. I am such a lucky bitch. XD Seriously! I mean come on, I saw my favourite band (the most amazing band to walk this earth) LIVE from about five feet away, front fucking row, they were wicked cool and acknowledged the fact that I exist, Eggi likes me, I hugged Dirk, and Adam Lännqvist is my boyfriend. Live can't get any better than that dude XD

Lastly, I started writing this at 8:42 and its now 12:26 and it takes up exactly seven full pages in word so this is going for the record for longest diaryland entry ever. So if you read this whole thing I'm quite impressed and I do believe that you deserve a hug. so *hug* and also, if you're Adam you deserve a million zillion kisses too. (not because you read this far hun, just because you're you.) so *million zillion kisses for super Swedish boyfriend*
